In this free-to-play mobile game, your task is simple yet challenging: keep your tavern doors open and your guests satisfied while navigating the perilous waters of fantasy politics and creature encounters.

Fantasy Tavern isn't just any game—it's a labour of love crafted by me, Rudolf, a solo indie developer with a dream to create games that put players first. This is my first foray into game development, and I poured my heart and soul into bringing this vision to life.

From the outset, my goal with Fantasy Tavern was clear: to challenge the notion that free-to-play games had to be exploitative or manipulative to succeed. As a gamer myself, I've seen first-hand how the mobile gaming industry has veered off course, prioritising profits over player enjoyment.

But I believe that games have the power to inspire, to entertain, and to bring people together. And with Fantasy Tavern, I set out to create a game that embodied those values—a game that offered a positive and enjoyable experience for all players!

In Fantasy Tavern, players navigate through the game by swiping left or right on incoming guests, deciding whether to welcome them in and serve them or to turn them away. With only a limited number of guests that can be served each day, every decision counts as you strive to maximise your earnings and keep your tavern afloat.

But managing your tavern isn't just about serving food and ale—it's also about ensuring that your guests get along. Fantasy creatures of all shapes and sizes frequent your establishment, and not all of them are compatible. For example, if you let a dragon into your tavern while a dwarf is already inside, the dragon may decide to barbecue and eat the dwarf, much to the dismay of other patrons. This unexpected turn of events can damage your tavern and tarnish your reputation, leading to a loss of fame and contributing to the growing darkness in the land.

The core objective of Fantasy Tavern remains unchanged: earn enough gold each day to pay the rent and keep your tavern in business. However, the addition of creature encounters adds a new layer of challenge and strategy to the game, requiring players to carefully consider the consequences of their actions and navigate the delicate balance between profit and peril.

But the challenges of running a tavern are just the beginning. As the game unfolds, players discover a deeper purpose behind their tavern-keeping duties.
